KRudd cancels Wynnum’s first street market

How could you, Kevin?

Well this isn’t strictly true, but his announcement of the election day as Saturday 7th September put paid to our plans to close Edith Street off that day for Wynnum’s first art/craft/vintage/retro market. Brisbane City Council has decided to suspend all road closures on the day so as not to impede voters in their rush to the polls, so this has put paid to us having the market then.

We’re pleased to report that the market has the 100% support of all businesses in Edith Street that are directly affected by the road closure, and the first market has now been moved to a provisional date of Saturday 5th October (awaiting council approval).

The market will be on between 9am and 4pm and will feature a huge range of art, craft, vintage and retro stalls. Mark the date in your calendar (it’s a long weekend) and we hope to see you there!

The market is an initiative of WynnumCentral, supported by 21 of the 200+ Wynnum central businesses.
