On Monday last week the presidential race ran to the wire as bids closed on eBay at 6pm that evening. Of the 8 bids, the final and winning bid was $315, up $20 on last year’s winning bid of $295 by President Kristoffersen.
The previous year the winning bid was $207.50, so it looks like the cost of a bid for the top job is going up!
The new president of the republic is Nicholas Bell (pictured), and we look forward to seeing him at his inauguration ceremony.
