Fans of basketball and Australian basketball will certainly be very familiar with Luc Longley. Longley began playing basketball in Perth, playing for the Perth Wildcats in the NBL (National Basketball League) in 1986. He played for the Chicago Bulls in the US, winning three championships with them and subsequently going on to play for the Phoenix Suns and the New York Knicks. He also played for Australia in the 1988, 1992 and 2000 Olympics and has also been assistant coach for the Australian national basketball team.
An icon of Australian sport, Longley blazed a trail to the NBA for the ever-growing number of Australians now competing in the world’s best basketball league.
For the first time, Luc Longley will be speaking about his basketball journey, including his “Last Dance” with the world famous Chicago Bulls at an event to be held at the Bayside Event Centre on Saturday 22nd October – Luc Longley – “My Story”.
The Bayside Event Centre is a relatively newly launched event space in the Health Hub Precinct on the corner of Bay Terrace and Florence Street. It now occupies the space where Fun Fit Play was.
