Bayside South Development Forum (BSDF) is hosting a touch football day on Sunday 26th October at the Wynnum-Manly Juniors Rugby League Football Club. BSDF president Dorinda Baar explained the event was an opportunity to promote active and healthy lifestyles and will be a safe and family fun oriented competition for local residents.
“We are encouraging all ages to be involved and you can pick your own team.” she said, “It could be a family team, your schoolfriends getting together or even a corporate team.”
Mrs Baar is also keen to encourage local businesses to come on board, to initiate and strengthen ties with the local community in an informal and fun environment.
Plenty of other entertainment is planned, with food stalls, a jumping castle, facepainting and fairy floss at the event. Plus there will be plenty for kids to do as well.
If you want to take part, you’ll have to put your skates on, as entries close 19th October. Cost is $200 per team. For more information visit www.bsdf.org/touchfooty or call 0402 462139.
