Dire weather forecast doesn’t stop market
The morning of the last Wynnum Twilight Market (Sat 13th Dec) did not look at all promising – the weather forecast had changed that morning to almost 100% chance of showers and stallholders were calling early to check if the market was still on. As a general rule we only call off the markets if severe weather is on the way and this time we made the call to go ahead.
As it turned out we had some drizzle for about 5 minutes and the rest of the market was pleasant and dry. Marketgoers were a little down in numbers, probably due to the weather in the morning and the forecast.
The weather forecast also meant we had to make some last minute changes to the entertainment, as we didn’t have the staging we normally do. We also needed to call on the services of local electricians Keid In Electrical (who were brilliant) to help us out with our generator and power supply, and in the end everyone had fun.
Here are some photos from the event. We’ll see you at the next one on Saturday 14th February.
