Hanging basket project nears trial phase
Several months ago we reported on an initiative to brighten up and beautify Wynnum with hanging plant/flower baskets in central Wynnum. A fair amount of work has been going on behind the scenes and we’re pleased to announce that – subject to Brisbane City Council approval – we will shortly be able to run a short trial, with a small number of baskets being installed in Edith Street. If the trial goes well, we’ll be looking to extend the hanging baskets throughout the central shopping area.
The project is a joint initiative of WynnumCentral, Help Enterprises and Darling Point Special School. The flower baskets will be maintained by Help Enterprises and Darling Point Special School, and will be installed by the Wynnum Men’s Shed.
Thanks also to Lars Hall from The Smith Family for steering the project through to this stage!
