Your editor had a guided tour of the Renew Newcastle initiative in Newcastle NSW the other week, from General Manager of the project, Christopher Saunders. Renew Newcastle has had a remarkable impact on the city centre of Newcastle, breathing new life into the city centre with a range of creative and artistic projects, from clothes designers to art galleries to co-working centres occupying previously empty shop and office premises.
Renew Newcastle has also been given access to the ground floor and shop window space of former David Jones building, which now houses an exhibition of photography alongside a millinery and clothing and moeware designers.
Wynnum Creative Spaces will launch soon in Wynnum, closely following the Renew Newcastle model.
