Nine days to go until the market
According to our countdown timer on this site, there are only nine sleeps to go until the inaugural WynnumCentral art/craft/vintage/retro market. Things are shaping up nicely and we’ve just put out a call for musicians and buskers to play on the day. If you would like to play, or you know some good musicians, please get in touch ([email protected] / 07 3103 5764).
We are also hoping to hold a small event to kick off the markets on the day, but we can’t say anything until it’s all confirmed…
Look out for our posters and signs which should start popping up around the place very soon.
PS we still have some stalls available, but you’ll need to get in quick!
Congratulations on this initiative. I hope that this becomes a regular event and not an occasional one. As a long time resident of the Wynnum/Manly area I have watched a lot of thing come and go but it would seem that there were never lasting changes. I dream of the day when Edith Street will become Wynnum’s Eat Street where it will be a mall with trees and restaurants and seating down the center and also a cinema in the same precinct. Ever since the old Star theater burnt down and the Imperial was demolished, Wynnum has never had a social gathering place to attract people. The foreshore needs redevelopment. Get BCC to dump that fill from the tunnels into the foreshore and build it our further, dump more sand and develop more little beaches and swimming areas, let the shop owners put small coffee shops out on the jetty and at other places along the shore line. Look at Redcliffe and Townsville for good examples of people friendly areas. Come on Wynnum, it’s time to shine as a central place of Brisbane and not as the forgotten ‘village’.
Here here Norm!
I third that. I absolutely love this area and love the events!!
Congratulations to the organisers of the local events like this as they are so well planned and very well advertised.
