Wynnum/Manly Councillor elected Opposition Leader
Local councillor Peter Cumming has been elected leader of the opposition at Brisbane City Council. Cr Cumming has stated that his aim is to keep Brisbane City Council accountable, saying “If there’s errors being made, if there’s cost overruns, we’ll be working hard to expose them.” He also said that the Opposition would focus on planning and development, congestion and public transport.
In addition to representing the Wynnum/Manly ward, Cr Cumming is now shadow spokesman for finance and economic development.

Dear Peter, please tell Brisbane City Council that there is a difference between urban planning and urban cramming and to stop approving crappy developments eg open car parks for 20 cars in the ground floor of a unit block with the only acoustic barrier from the poor neighbours in their timber queenslander houses being a so called ‘acoustic timber fence’. What a lot of crap. 5 level limits with the ‘outdoor space’ on the roof! Won’t it be joy wheh they put on a stereo on the roof or have a party – the sound will travel for miles
